Randy Bonk is a producer-editor (aka preditor) based in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. With over 20 years experience, he has worked on hundreds on videos ranging from corporate promotional videos to TV series and documentaries. For the past 11 years, Randy has worked as Head of Post Production at Two Dogs Media and, more recently, as a Forensic Video Analyst at True Bearing Media. On the artistic side, he is currently in pre-production on a new YouTube cartoon for kids and a short film set for shooting next year.
Randy began his forays in the entertainment industry when, at the age of 12, he began acting professionally in theatres in downtown Toronto. He continued to act and study theatre for many years, but became increasingly more interested in the making of films. When the digital video revolution hit in the 90s, Randy bought a Canon XL1 and a Power Mac G4 and began shooting whatever he could and cutting his teeth on the first iterations of Final Cut Pro. Fast forward to today and he now works on a state-of-the-art Mac with 32” displays, Thunderbolt RAID and SSD drives, and unlimited Cloud storage.
Randy edits mostly in Final Cut Pro/Motion for speed and stability; but he is also adept at Premiere Pro/After Effects and the occasional colour grading in Davinci Resolve. To inquire about his services and pricing, please click here.

Noun
(plural preditors)
• In the entertainment industry, a job title that combines both the duties of a producer and an editor, and depending on the skills of the individual, the duties of a producer, a writer and an editor.
Preditors are becoming more and more common due to the rise of reality television. Usually an editor is given a detailed script to cut from, but a preditor is often given only an outline and is expected to create the story. On non scripted documentaries, a preditor can work without supervision to create the story outline, as well as write and edit the film.*
Term used for one who is essentially an all in one film maker. Ability to go through the processes of production, shooting, and editing all in one.**
